What do you say when someone asks you: “What do you do?”
It has to be a quick, compelling description of your company which highlights your USP and hopefully invites interest and further conversation. For example, a response may be:
“I own a bakery called Lovely Cakes which creates organic celebration and wedding cakes – all of our ingredients are 100% organic and bought at a sustainable price from local farms. Have you heard of Reed Farms? This is where we source our eggs.”
Make sure it doesn’t sound too rehearsed!
Once you have these basics in place, you may be surprised at all the places you can use your elevator pitch and USP online and offline. Use modified versions for your social media profiles, for advertising copy and for any flyers or business cards you are creating, and they may serve as a great foundation for the rest of your marketing activities!
